Bert's parents homesteaded on the Sun River in 1915. She rode horseback to the Liberty School, and then went to Augusta High School. When she graduated in 1934, she had the prerequisites, and desire to go to nursing school but had no money. In the fifties, she got certification as a nurse's aide and worked at the Teton Nursing Home for many years. She retired (as she said) "When I noticed that I was older than some of the residents." She lived at Skyline Lodge for the past eight years.
She enjoyed sewing, scrapbooking and her children's activities. She had been a Cub Scout leader and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church Auxiliary.
She was married to Arthur Raymond Anderson on May 8, 1937 and he preceded her in death in 2009. She is survived by her three children, two sisters, a brother and two sisters in law, two grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
