He was known to many as "Windy". Ira married Bertha Evelena Ward in Mount Ida, Montgomery Co., Arkansas on June 5, 1916.
After the death of his first wife, he later married Loma Alice (Hardin). She was born Aug. 3, 1906 and died May 4, 1966 in Temple, Bell County, Texas. Loma is buried in the Peoria Cemetery, Hill Co., Texas. Ira is buried next to his first wife, Bertha in the Hillcrest Garden of Memory Cemetery in Hill County, Texas, There has yet to be a head stone marker placed at their graves.
Ira and Bertha had 8 children: Margaret Belle, Harold Austin, Clarence Milton, Lynn, Infant boy, Infant boy, Infant boy and Joseph Baker. Ira lived most of his life in and around the Hill County, Texas area.
