Funeral services for Joe Bright will be held on Wednesday, March 7 at 10 a.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Capel.
The Rev. Warren Hornung and the Rev. Robert Deming will officiate, with interment in Memorial Park. Mr. Bright died on Monday morning at a local hospital.
He was born on September 16, 1906 in Gonzales, to E. Ray Bright Sr. and Roberta Sellers Bright, natives of Gonzales and Luling respectively. He was married on Nov. 24, 1928 in Houston, and lived on St. James Street.
Mr. Bright served as an engineering technician for many years for the Texas State Highway Department,and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Jesse (Shirley) Jones of San Antonio and Mrs. Bob (Brenda) Cuvelier of Corpus Christi; one son Richard Bright of Los Angeles, Ca., a brother, E. R. Bright Jr.; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, William Joe Bright Jr.; a grandson, Joey Jones, four great grandchildren and three sisters.
