Mr. James "Jimmy" Calvin Appling, 54, of Newnan, Georgia, passed away July 16, 2012. He was born July 20, 1957, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Calvin and Elaine Appling.
Jimmy was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend who always maintained a calm demeanor. He loved music, singing and making people laugh.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Kelley; children and their current/ future spouses, Chrissey and Ron Vizcarra of Senoia, Sherry Appling and Alex Brown of Stockbridge, Kristan Appling and Ryan Brown of Newnan and Alden Appling; grandchildren, Malayna and Brendan Vizcarra, and Hudson Brown; parents, Calvin and Elaine Appling of Fayetteville; siblings, Tommy and Tammy Appling and Deborah and Kenny Jones of Jonesboro; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 19, at 11 a.m. at Lisbon Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Ga. Mr. Appling will lie in state from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Officiating will be Reverend Danny Wilson. The burial will follow at the Lisbon Baptist Church Cemetery, Fayetteville, Ga. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the "Appling Family Fund" at Bank of Coweta, Newnan, Georgia.
