MRS. FRANCES WILLIAMS WHITEN, 86, widow of J. G. Whiten, died June 5th at her home in the Mize community of Franklin County.
Mrs. Whiten, a lifelong resident of the Mize Community, was born Dec. 24, 1880, a daughter of the late E. M. and Essie Ayers Williams. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Sewell of the home; five sons, Clarence Whiten of Jackson, GA; Ondee Whiten of Carnesville; Carl Whiten of the home; Mart Whiten of Toccoa and Morris Lee Whiten of Cornelia; five sisters, Mrs. T. W. Andrews, Mrs. Emma Bush, Mrs. Bernice LeCroy, all of Toccoa; Mrs. B. M. Edge of Loganville and Mrs. Bertha Garrison of Cornelia; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7th in Dan Matthews Mortuary Chapel with rev. Ralph Bagwell officiating. Burial was in New Hope Baptist Church cemetery.
Pallbearers: Jimmy Crawford, Wendell Crawford, Charlton Ayers, Dan J. Ayers, Frankie Payne and Dan Bailey.
