Has Lived in Port Washington All Her Life;
Leaves Eight Children, Four Sisters, and Six Brothers
Mrs. William Blumenberg, Sr., a native of Port Washington, passed away at 9:30 o'clock last Saturday morning, January 22, at the Deaconess hospital at Milwaukee, where she had undergone an operation nine days previously.
Ida Wilhelmina Keller was born in Port Washington on November 28, 1873, and was 53 years, 1 month, and 27 days old at the time of her death.
She was married on December 21, 1892 to William Blumenberg, who survives her. Nine children were born to this union, one of whom died in infancy. The children include five sons, William, Henry, Fred, Otto and Walter, and three daughters, Mrs. Jacob Dahm (Helene), Mrs. Leonard Heldger (Florence), and Edna. The child who died in infancy was a twin sister to Fred. Eight grandchildren are also counted among the survivors.
Four sisters and six brothers also remain. They are Mrs. Emma Musey, of Milwaukee; Herman, also of Milwaukee; Mrs. Ely Winters, of West Allis; Mrs. Ed Wearn and Mrs. John Wilhelm, of Highland park, Illinois; Ed of Fredonia; and George, Henry, John, and Jacob, of Port Washington.
The funeral is being held today (Wednesday) from the house at 1:30 o'clock and at the Friedens Evangelical church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. F. Lefkovics has charge of the services. Interment was made in the local cemetery.
Mrs. Blumenberg was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of that church and the members of the society attended the funeral in a body.
