William E. "Doc" Caddell, Sr., 76, of Jasonville, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004 at Shakamak Good Samaritan Center, Jasonville.
Born Sept. 2, 1927 in Greene County, he was the son of Kess and Frances (Sumner) Caddell. He married Mary Maxine (Love) Caddell on March 14, 1950. She preceded him in death on Feb. 15, 2000.

He previously worked for Terre Haute Foundry. He was a member of the Jasonville American Legion Post 172 and the Worthington VFW Post. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law Carolyn Sue and Steve Myers of Jasonville; five sons and four daughters-in-law, William E. "Pedad" and Glenda Caddell Jr. of Linton, Donald Ray Caddell of Jasonville, John Robert and Cindy Caddell of Jasonville, Max Ivan and Lisa Caddell of Lillington, N.C., and Frank Eldon and Jackie Caddell of Jasonville; a sister and brother-in-law June and Herschel Rehmel of Jasonville; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Franklin and Nancy Caddell of Jasonville, Clifford and Mary Ann Caddell of Jasonville, Albert "Ab" and Mary Ann Caddell of Cunot, and Robert and Nancy Caddell of Jasonville; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Maxine Caddell, one great-grandchild Emma Lee Myers, two sisters, Delores Shragg and Virginia Ann Williams, and three brothers, Sterlin Caddell, Sr., Clarence "Hank" Caddell and Donald Ray Caddell.

Graveside memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Peavey Cemetery, Howesville with Pastor Bob Ross officiating. There will be military graveside rites. Burial will be in Peavey Cemetery.

McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home of Jasonville is in charge of arrangements.
