Herbert Rupert Easler, 86, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, July 14, 2012, at his home.
Born January 30, 1926, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Luther Blanton and Beulah (Bennett) Easler and husband of the late Helen Lucille (Sawyer) Easler.
Retired from Acres Central Motor Lines after 30 years of service, he was a member of the Teamsters Union and Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Cheryl Rollins of Cowpens and Charlotte Blalock (Rick) of Chesnee; sons, Kenny Easler (Rita) of Chesnee, Allan Easler (Tina) and Randy Easler (Jan Seay), all of Spartanburg; sisters, Mallie Sargent, Iris Dill, and Dorothy Johnson, all of Spartanburg, and Betty Harrison of Colorado; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by a son, Erwin Easler (surviving wife Carol Easler); grandsons, Jason Easler and Shane Easler; and son-in-law, Jerry Rollins.
Visitation was held 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, July 16, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Charlie Glover and the Rev. Fred Quidley. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
Flowers were accepted or memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 429 Suite #3 N. Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601.
