Sister of Ray C Easler, Sr.
Bessie Mae Easler Thrift, 94, of 1004 Gossett Road, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at her home. Born November 7, 1912, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Luther Blanton and Edith Mae Poteat Easler, step-daughter of the late Beulah Bennett Easler, and the wife of the late Boyce Lee "Chuck" Thrift. A graduate of Spartanburg High School, she was a retired Nurse's Aid with Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after 18 years of service. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over sixty years and was a member of the WMU. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Cornelia T. Hill and her husband Bobby of Spartanburg; four sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Iris Dill, Mallie Sargent, all of Spartanburg, and Betty Lou Harrison of Utah; a brother, Rupert Easler of Spartanburg; two grandsons, Andy Hill and his wife Patricia of Mooresboro, NC, and Kevin Hill and granddaughter-in-law Sandy Warmoth of Mayo; two granddaughters, Sherry Hill of Enoree, and Reba Hill of Gaffney; four great-grandchildren; and three-great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 7-9:00 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2007, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2007, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Fred S. Quidley and the Rev. Kenneth Cash. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
Deacons will serve as pallbearers.
