PAUL ROSS HAMPTON, 86, of Houston, Texas, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, friend, and "Chocolatier" passed away on December 1, 1997. Paul was born in Marietta, Georgia. He attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma and moved to Houston in 1938. He founded American Gear and Supply in 1944 and was a member of Rotary Club of Houston since 1953. Eastwood Baptist Church was his church home for 52 years and currently he was a member of Park Place Baptist Church.
Paul is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jessie and their four children.
Some say the true measure of a man is not how well he loved, but how he was loved by others. If this be the unit of measure, then Paul was an awesome giant. Those who knew him and loved him dearly will miss the jokes, the joy, the laughter, and the feeling of being special that he brought into their lives. He is with our Lord now and that gladens our hearts.
