She married on April 8, 1822, in Frederick County, Maryland, to Elias Arthur, son of Frederick and Catherine Brown Arthur. They migrated to Coshocton County, Ohio, where they lived the remainder of their lives. Sophia passed away September 12, 1857, in Jefferson Township, Coshocton County, and was buried in Darling Run Cemetery there.
