Mattie Lee (Miller) Craft, age 96, of Melissa, Texas passed away July 13, 2012. She was born September 24, 1915 in Mantua, Texas to Lawrence Miller and Lillie (Dixon) Miller. On November 7, 1935 she married Don Lee Craft in Denton, Texas. Mattie Lee attended First Baptist Church of Melissa. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Chapter 518, where she once served as Worthy Matron. Mattie Lee taught school for thirty-three years in the Texas Public School System. She retired in 1980 after twenty-seven years of teaching in the Richardson Independent School District, where she taught 6th grade at Heights Elementary School. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Craft of Melissa, Texas, Linda Evans and husband, Royce of Princeton, Texas; grandson, Joe Bridges of McKinney, Texas; granddaughter, Sally Bridges Roman and husband, Britt of Melissa, Texas; sister-in-laws, Louise Miller of Melissa, Texas, Diane Miller of Melissa, Texas, Eileen Craft of Sherman, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Lillie Miller; husband, Don Lee Craft; sister, Oleta Airhart; brother, Glenn D Miller; sister, Mary Helen Bewley and brother, Lawrence (Bob) Miller. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas.
