Clifford C. "Cliff" Crain, 93, of Columbus died at 1:50 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 1998, at Medicalodge of Columbus, after an illness.

He was born Feb. 3, 1905, in Cherokee County to John Elijah and Frances Sales Crain. He grew up and attended schools in Cherokee County.

He married Mary Jane Wilcox on June 9, 1926, at Columbus. She preceded him in death Aug. 22, 1992.

Survivors include four sons, Leo Crain of Pryor, Okla., and Doyle, Lyman, and Lloyd Crain, all of Columbus; a brother, Harlin Crain of Pittsburg; three sisters, Bonnie Wilcox of Columbus, and Wamyth Geasland and Charlea "Peggy" Harwood, both of Parsons; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; three sons, Ray Crain, Gayle Crain and Ronnie Crain; a brother, Myrl Crain; and five sisters, Pearl Hale, Mildred Wilcox, Wilma Corn, Vera Cowley and Beauanna Triebel.
