Husband of Anna Kurrass and father of Edwin Ande.

Born in Ringers Lansen Hessen Nassen, Germany, he came to the US on May 28, 1881 on the SS Oder, applying for a passport on May 28th at Elizabeth, NJ, and taking up residence at 1812 Fulton Street in Brooklyn. At the time he gave his occupation as baker. In 1900, he and wife Anna and brother Peter could be found living on Sumpter Street, where Andrew made a living driving an ice wagon. By 1910 he and his wife and now son Edwin were living on Hunterfly Place, and Andrew was now a retail coal dealer. By 1915, still at the same address, his business had expanded to coal and wood. The year 1920 saw them still living on Hunterfly, along with Anna's father, Andrew's business had now expanded to trucking of coal and ice. In 1925, Andrew and Anna, Edwin and father-in-law Frederick were living on Pitt Street in Brookhaven where Andrew was still successfully working in coal and ice business. In 1930, Andrew was shown retired, and son Edwin was working as a salesman at a coal yard.
