Jean Johansson Bengtsson; born July 31, 1856 in Kinne-kleva, Sweden. Jean immigrated to the United States in 1876. He went to Grantsvill Utah where his mother Anna Lena Jansdotter lived. I believe it was there that he met Arminta Malinda McBride and they were married in Logan Utah; December22,1886. To blend in better in America he changed his name to John Benson; all his siblings had changed their last names to Benson. Census records show John became a citizen in 1898. He was a sheep owner living in Cokeville, Wyoming in 1900 but had moved to Poplar Idaho where he can be found in the 1910 and 1920 federal census. some time after 1920 he moved to Burley Idaho and lived the rest of his life there passing away at the age of 78.
