Mrs. McAdams Succumbs At Home Here
Funeral Today At St. Paul's Church
Mrs. Sarah Read Branch McAdams, 88, a lifelong resident of Richmond and a member of a family long prominent in Virginia's affairs, died late Friday at her home, 914 West Franklin St.
Mrs. McAdams was the widow of George B. McAdams and was active in church circles for many years. She was the oldest member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by one son, Thomas Branch McAdams, of New York; a daughter, Mrs. Louise McAdams Cooke, of Richmond; a brother, James R. Branch, of Palm Beach, Fla., and White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth H. Bowie, of New York; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. McAdams was the daughter of the late James Read Branch and Martha Louise Patteson Branch.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Church. The Rev. Dr. Vincent C. Franks, rector, assisted by Dr. W. Russell Bowie, of New York, will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.

Sarah Read Branch, the first child and daughter of
James Read Branch and Martha Louise Patteson, was
born, in Richmond, Virginia, 9th October, 1857.
She married, in Richmond, Virginia, 6th November,
1878, George Brockenborough McAdams, only son of
William McAdams of Pensacola, Florida, and afterward
for many years, a prominent business man of Richmond.
Mr. McAdams died very suddenly 22d February, 1896.
