John J. Fisher was a Farmer. He was married to Virgina Childress/Childers approximately 1879. Virginia was born in the state of Mississippi. John Fisher was born in Arkansas. Both his parents were born in Alabama.

At the time of the 1900 census Telico Township, St. Francis, Arkansas, United States,he had been married to Virginia 21 years. I found a marriage record for a Virginia Childers and John Fisher located in Benton, Mississippi dated February 8, 1878. This seems to be the same John and Virginia Fisher.

John and Virginia Fisher are the parents of William Fisher, Girtie Fisher, Anderson Fisher, Maudie Fisher Taylor, and Riley A. Fisher. Virginia Childress Fisher passed away first, but details are not proven at this time. He lived a short distance from the Old Martin Cemetery where it is believed that he and Virginia and a lot of his family members are buried. It is also known as Dark Corners. The 1900 census also states that Virginia was the mother of 8 children, but only 5 living at the time of the census. I believe William to be one of those deceased children.

On August 18, 1914 John J. Fisher married Lottie Vival Lewis in St. Francis, Arkansas. She was born in Arkansas and died in Cardwell, Dunklin, Missouri on August 11, 1950. John J. and Lottie were the parents of Andrew J. Fisher born in Telico, St. Francis Co., Arkansas. Andrew was only a little over one years old when he passed away. Bothe father and son passed away the same year.

The burial locations for John J. Fisher and Andrew J. Fisher and Virginia Fisher are unknown at this time. The most probable Father of John J Fisher is George or William Fisher. The Father of George and William is John Fisher born in Kentucky who along with his wife Elizabeth are in the 1850 census in the same area as John J. Fisher. The mother of John J. Fisher is Prudence Moore. John Fisher's brother and sister are Nancy Fisher and William Fisher. They are all three two years apart, with John J Fisher being the youngest. If you know any facts or information on this family, please notify the person who created this memorial. I do not have the parents names for John J. Fisher for certain, but I believe the Father to be George Fisher or William Fisher. The parents of Virginia are James Willis Childers and Elizabeth Jane Paul Childers. James was born in Alabama and Elizabeth was born in Mississippi according to the 1900 census for Telico Township, St. Francis County, Arkansas.
