Johannes Ackerman, 71, Mound City, died at his home in Mound City Wednesday. Services were at the Church of God in Mound City last week Friday. Reverend Bosma officiated. Burial was in Sutley Reformed cemetery.
He was born February 23, 1879. On November 07, 1900, he married Margaret Sieler at Java, South Dakota.
Survivors are his wife, three sons, four daughters, 14 grandchildren and 13 brothers and sisters.

Johannes Ackerman born 23 February 1879 in Neusatz, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia, son of Jacob Ackerman Sr. and Katharina Eissinger.
Johannes at the age of six with his parents and siblings; Jacob Jr, Andrew, Peter, George and Sophia, immigrated to America via the Port of Breman, Germany aboard the SS "Werra" and arrived at the Port of New York, New York, on the 1st of April 1885.
