Norman "Gene" Crouch, 80, of Bayard, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away Sunday at Jefferson. Visitation will be Thursday, July 1 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ohde Funeral Home in Bayard. The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Bayard. Burial will follow at Highland Township Cemetery near Bayard.
Norman "Gene," son of George L. and Leva Ora (McCracken) Crouch, was born on Aug. 18, 1929 at Bayard, Iowa. Gene served in the U.S. Army.
In 1950, Gene married Geneva Herron in Des Moines. In 1969, Gene moved his family to Fort Dodge where he worked for Fort Dodge Transportation and later for Bush Hog. He returned to Bayard in 1989.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, wife Geneva in 2005 and his brother and sisters.
He is survived by his children, James Crouch of Fort Dodge, Karen and husband Robert Patrick of Bayard, Virginia and husband Larry Feeley of Fort Dodge, Terry Crouch and wife Joyce of Wilmington, N.C., Scott Crouch and wife Carla of Wilimington, N.C., Jon Crouch and wife Pamela of Fort Dodge, Ann and husband Paul Porter of Fort Dodge and Jim Morgan of Denver, IA; 19 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, other relatives and many friends.
