James 'Leonard' Martin

James "Leonard" Martin, 66, of 120 S. Main St., Harrisburg, died 1:05 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2002, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at Ozark Baptist Church with the Rev. Wirley Hendrix and the Rev. Clyde Livingston officiating. Burial will be in Little Saline Cemetery in Stonefort with military rites by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American Legions. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills and 9 a.m. to service time Friday at the church.

He was born Nov. 16, 1935, in McCormick to the late Oren Carl and Helen (Whitlock) Martin. On March 19, 1960, he married Juanita Robison, who survives.

He was owner and operator of Karpet Korner in Harrisburg, Marion and East Cape Girardeau. He was a Marine veteran, a member of the Harrisburg Rotary, a former school board member of the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Schools and a member and deacon of the Ozark Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie and J.P. Rheaume and Missy and Alan Mattingly, all of Harrisburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lennie and Mary Martin of East Cape Girardeau and Stuart and Celeste Martin of Harrisburg; two brothers, Vincent Martin of Stonefort and Gary Martin of Marion; two sisters, Lenore Martin of Stonefort and Mary Templeton of Marion and 10 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Renita Jackson and a brother, Bobby Gene Martin.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and be left at the funeral home.
