Jean H. Fortney, 89, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Englewood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Crestline, OH, Jean was a loving Homemaker. Jean enjoyed helping her children with anything they would need, she was a very encouraging person, and had a gift for uplifing others. Jean was a long time member of First Grace Brethren Church of Fort Wayne.Surviving are her son, Daniel A. (Marlene) Fortney of MD, son Robert Fortney of Columbus, OH, son Jim (Karen) Fortney of PA, son Douglas (Rhonda) Fortney of Fort Wayne, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Mabel Thomson, and loving husband of 65 years, Donald Fortney. Service is 3:00 pm, Saturday July 7, 2012 at - D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue with calling 1 hour prior. Pastor Larry Richeson will officiate.
