JOSEPH B. AUSTIN DIES AT LAKESIDE
LAKESIDE, Jan. 16―Joseph B. Austin, 77, a resident of New Buffalo for nearly a half century, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Olive Edwards, here, where he had been staying since last Thanksgiving day. He had been confined to his bed for the past two weeks.
Mr. Austin was born Oct. 16, 1863 in Quebec, Canada, and was married to Miss Lovina Stevens in Canada Oct. 7, 1886. In 1891 Mr. and Mrs. Austin moved to New Buffalo from Canada. Mrs. Austin passed away May 6, 1936.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Connelly funeral home in Three Oaks. The Rev. Charles Dobberton, of New Buffalo, will officiate and burial will be in the New Buffalo Cemetery.
