Edward F. Austin of 8540 East Road, Lakeside passed away at his residence early Sat. morning, June 18.
Mr. Austin was born October 28, 1896 in New Buffalo, the son of Joseph and Lavina Austin. He was 86 years old at the time of his death.
In 1918 he married Carrie E. Wire, she passed away in 1945. In 1948 he married Florence Meyers, she survives.
He is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carmen (Paul) Kramer, Three Oaks, and one son, Clifford Austin, Lakeside; 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Two sons are deceased, Vernon L. 1941 and Edward J. 1957. Also two stepchildren: Mr. Clare Meyers of Cape Canaveral, Florida and Mrs. Nonda Minor of Muncie, IN.
Mr. Austin owned and operated the Austin Grocery in Lakeside for many years, grocery now operated by his son, Clifford.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 21 at 2:00 P.M. at Connelly-Noble Funeral Home in Three Oaks with Rev. Greg Wood officiating. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery. Mr. Austin was a member of the Lakeside United Methodist Church.
He was also a member of Moose Lodge, F. and A.M. #239 Three Oaks (Life member of both).
Memorials may be made to River Valley Senior Center, Harbert.
