Lottie Aken, 95, Couderay, died Monday, Nov. 26, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Rice Lake.
Lottie Brewer was born Nov. 17, 1889, in Richland Center, and was married there to Orvie Aken in 1907. The couple lived for 11 years in Richland Center and moved to Couderay in 1918. In 1955 they moved to Detroit Lakes, MN, and help operate Aken's Resort on Round Lake. Mr. Aken died in 1959, and Lottie moved back to Couderay where she resided until moving to Rice Lake in 1976.
She was a member of the Couderay Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are three sons, Carroll, Genoa, IL, Bernard, Munising, MI, and Robert, Couderay; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Gerald.
Funeral services were held at 11 A.M. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Couderay Presbyterian Church. Pastor Del Biglow officiated. Music was provided by Ann Mooney, organist. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Couderay. Visitation was from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Anderson-Nathan Funeral Home, Hayward, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Casket bearers were Dale Scharlau, Harry Mapes, Bob Sander, Vern Keith, John Walczak, and Richard Aken.
