Born in Herndon, Va., Phoebe Anne Crouch Gee Gasich, 78, passed away from a heart attack July 25, 2004 on her father's farm in Boones Creek, Tenn. Phoebe was the youngest of seven and always had an adventurous nature. Growing up in Richmond, she graduated from Thomas Jefferson H.S., receiving her B.S. from Cal State, Northridge, and a masters of psychology from Immaculate Heart, Los Angeles, Calif. She was interested in psychology, literature, world affairs, economics, and religion. She loved music of all kinds. As a young woman in Washington, D.C., she was a secretary to Senator Lyndon B. Johnson and Henry J. Kaiser. She loved reading stories to her grandchildren, hence the nickname, "Granny Goose". An avid traveler, a student of life and a professor of love, Phoebe studied most religions of the world. Her favorite country was India, where she lived for seven years. She loved and cared for many individuals less fortunate than herself. As a devotee of Sai Baba, she followed his teachings: "Love All Serve All". She returned to Tennessee to care for family members. Her wish was to be cremated with an Irish Wake to celebrate her life.
