William H. Fry, the well known manager of Coyner's Springs and brother of Dr. R. W. Fry, of this city, died at the Roanoke Hospital Sunday morning after only a few days' illness from peritonitis.
Mr. William H. Fry was well known in this city, having made his home at Coyner's with his father ever since the war. He was born in Richmond fifty-two years ago and came to Coyner's with his family in January, 1866, just after the close of the civil war. He never married, and was very popular with every one who knew him.
The funeral was conducted from the residence of his brother, Dr. R. W. Fry, 17 Tenth avenue, s. w., last evening at 8 o'clock, and the remains were then taken to Richmond, where they will be interred in the family plot in Hollywood cemetery.
The news of Mr. Fry's death was a distinct shock to the entire city. He had been at Coyner's so long that every one in the city had become well acquainted with him and all liked him. He was always most kind to the visitors and his every effort was to make a chance visit to that popular place a pleasant event. The sympathy of all is extended the bereaved relatives.
