Goldie Armstrong Johnson, 88, of Staunton, died Tuesday, February 18, 1997, at the Oak Hill Nursing Home. She was born in Collierstown on April 4, 1908, daughter of the late Howard G. and Ida Mae Morris Armstrong. She was a retired registered nurse for the C. & O. Hospital, a member of the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, Ladies Bible Class, Church circle, and a member of the C. & O. Nurses Alumni. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard V. Johnson in 1974, and is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Harry (Ashley) Lucas of Blacksburg, Mrs. Moeton (Coreta) Agnor of Fairfield, and Mrs. Wade (Glenden) Scott of Clifton Forge; a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Friday, February 21, 1997, at 2 p.m., from the Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge, with the Rev. Brad Langdon officiating. Memorial gifts may be made in her name to the favorite charity of the donor. Arrangements by Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
