Ashley Armstrong Lucas,, 96, of Prices Fork, died Sunday, April 15, 2001 at her home. She was born in Collierstown, Va. on December 7, 1904 to the late Howard Gratton and Ida Mae Morris Armstrong.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harry Corbett Lucas; and two brothers, William H. Armstrong, Eugene Morris Armstrong; and a sister, Goldie A. Johnson.

She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Doris L. Broyles of Midlothian, Va., Norma L. Hill of Blacksburg, Peggy L. and Henry Nickels of Tazewell, Va., Harriet L. and Jerry Albert of Longshop; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Eugene and Betty Lucas of Galveston, Texas, Howard C. and Nancy Lucas of Lynchburg, Joe M. and Wanda Lucas of Prices Fork; two sisters, Coreta Agnor of Fairfield, Va., Glenden Scott of Lexington; 16 grandchildren, Robert Hill, Jr. of Mt. Crawford, Va., Michael Hill of Blacksburg, Howard Lucas , Jr. of Houston, Texas, Catherine Lucas of Chesapeake, Va., Patricia McKenney of Richmond, Fred Broyles, Jr. of Fredricksburg, Ronnie Broyles of Midlothian, Margaret Snyder of Big Bear Lake, Calif., Linda Rutherford of Dallas, Texas, Sherri Rasnick of Tazewell, Melissa Nickels of Bluefield, Va., David Lucas of Middleburg, Va., Timothy Lucas of Prices Fork, Amy Lucas of Christiansburg, Shannon Albert and Michelle Albert of Longshop; 18 great-grandchildren; and caregivers, Irene McCoy, Dorothy Sexton, Della Snider, and Dee Snider.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, April 18, 2001 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stan Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. Friends may call anytime after 3 p.m. Tuesday, and the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Prices Fork United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Florence P. Kinnear, Church Treasurer, 4116 Prices Fork Road, Blacksburg, Va. or the Shiloh Lutheran Church, 5218 Long Shop Road, Blacksburg, Va. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
