Major League Baseball Player. For eight seasons (1966 to 1971), he was an outfielder with the Chicago White Sox and Washington Senators. Born Edwin Marvin Stroud, he was raised in Ohio where he attended Warren G. Harding High School. He was signed as an amateur free agent by the White Sox in 1963 and following service with the US Army during the Vietnam War, he marked his Major League debut with Chicago on September 11th, 1966; he appeared in 11 games that year recording 6 hits. In 1970 while with the Washington Senators, he yielded career-highs in hits with 115 and doubles with 11. In 444 regular season games, he compiled 320 hits with a lifetime .237 batting average. Following his retirement from baseball, Stroud worked as the equal opportunity coordinator for the City of Warren.
