GOWER, Mo. - Roger M. Adkins, 58, Gower, died Thursday Jan. 27, 2000 at his residence.
Mr. Adkins and his brother, Frank, owned and operated Adkins Brothers' Painting Co. in Gower for over 35 years.
Born near Edgerton, Mo., on Feb. 20, 1941, he was reared near Gower. He was a graduate of the Gower high school, where he was an All-State football player in 1958 and 1959.
Mr. Adkins was a member of the Frazier (Mo.) Baptist Church.
On Feb. 26, 1960, he married Wilma Holder. They made their home in Gower. She survives him of the home.
Mr. Adkins was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Nina, four brothers, Jack, Charles, Bruce and Frank; and a sister, Lorraine Boswell.
Additional survivors: two sons, Robbie and Deron, both of Gower; two daughters, Jona Runyon and Dana Schuster, both of Gower; a brother, Robert, St. Joseph; six sisters, Anan M. Van Hoozer, Platte City, Mo., Hazel Bledsoe and Beulah Cantrell, both of Gower, Carolyn Williams, Dearborn, Mo, Elma Bartley, Trimble, Mo., Linda Hyatt, Edgerton, Mo; and seven grand children.
Service; 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Hixon Klein Funeral Home, Gower. Burial: Frazier Cemetery. Family visitation: 6:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
