Gower MO - Hazel Irene Bledsoe, 87, passed away Dec. 10, 2006, at the Gower Convalescent Center.
Hazel was born Oct. 4, 1919, in Dearborn, Mo., to Robert Lihue and Elva Nina (Babcock) Adkins. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dearborn.
Hazel was married to Willie Alpha "W. A." Bledsoe on June 15, 1938 in St. Joseph. She was a homemaker, loved to work crossword puzzles and enjoyed embroidery. Hazel raised tobacco and worked many years for the Headstart program.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, W.A. Bledsoe; three sons, Ronald, Leslie and Willie; two grandsons, Scott and John; and three great-grandsons, Bradley, Sean and Scotty.
She is survived by a son, Darrel Bledsoe, and wife, Sue of Dearborn; two daughters, Patty Propheter, and husband Don, of Tightwad MO; and Nina Redecker, and husband, Carl of Gerald MO; a brother, Bobby Adkins of St. Joseph; and three sisters, Buelah Cantrell of Gower; Caroline Williams of Dearborn; and Linda Hyatt of Edgerton MO. Hazel also is survived by 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 12 at Vaughn-Aufranc Funeral Chapel in Dearborn. The funeral service will be 10:30a.rn. Wednesday, Dec 13 at the funeral home. interment will be in the Dearborn Cemetery.
