Leroy was an avid farmer who enjoyed a hard day's work. He was a proud member of the North Miami school board for 13 years and missed only one meeting due to surgery while on the board. He was a member of the Perrysburg Baptist Church and attended Denver Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, reading the paper and spending time with his grandchildren. For many years, he taught the men's Sunday school class at the Perrysburg church. Those surviving include his sister, Jeanette Hunter, Peru; sisters-in-law, Harriet Zartman and Sue Mitchell; children, Linda Mills, Indianapolis, Jan Pike and spouse Jim, Indianapolis, Curt and wife Barbara Mills, Macy, Kent and wife Sharon Mills, Denver; grandchildren, Jessica Pike, Indianapolis, Adam Pike, Indianapolis, Nathan Vandermark, Denver, Myranda Rusie, Portland, OR; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. His parents, his brothers, Richard Mills and Myron Mills, sister, Arlene Balsbaugh and his wife of 63 years, Margaret Mills, precede him in death. Funeral services will be Sunday, July 17, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at McClain Funeral Home, Denver with Pastor Steve Bate officiating.
