He was born July 27, 1862 In Watervliet township, the son of Patrick and Bridget Howley.
He had been a farmer in this community all his life.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Hopewell and Mrs. Henry Thrall of Watervliet; three sons, William of Watervliet, Thomas, Jr., of Cassopolis and Edward of Benton Harbor; a sister, Miss Bridget Howley of Watervliet; 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. The body is at the Hutchins funeral home. where the rosary will be recited at 9 P.M. Tuesday .
Requiem Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic church. The Rev. R. G. Thelen will officiate. Burial will be in Silver Creek cemetery.
