The Rev. Henry Powell and the Rev. Tim Allbritton officiated. Burial, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield and Masonic graveside rites were conducted in the church cemetery.
He was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish, a retired farmer and a member of the Beech Creek Baptist Church and of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Myra Peters; one son, Ike Peters of Pineville; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Jenkins of Winnfield; two brothers, Wayne Peters of Stevens, Ark., and Dennis Peters of Pineville; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Hammons of Grayson, Mrs. Della Shell of Winnfield, and Mrs. Alice Dunn of Baton Rouge; and six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
