Mrs. Lourana Fletcher Peters, 86 years, 10 months, and 20 days of age, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. D. F. Shell, Winnfield, Tuesday, Nov. 7, 1944, following a stroke which she suffered Monday morning.

Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon with the pastor, Rev. H. H. McBride, officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery.

Born in Ward Two, the daughter of the late Jane Tullos Fletcher and William Fletcher, Mrs. Peters was a member of one of the pioneer families of Winn Parish. She is the last member of her immediate family. In 1877, she was married to Amos S. Peters, and he preceded her in death, succumbing in 1919. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Winnfield.

Mrs. Peters is survived by three daughters, Mrs. A. A. Hammons, Ruston; Mrs. D. F. Shell, Winnfield; and Mrs. Elmer J. Dunn, Baton Rouge; four sons, J. L. Peters, Ward Two; Dr. A. L. Peters, Monroe; W. D. Peters, Pineville; A. W. Peters, Kingston, Tenn.; fourteen grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. She was the aunt of R. H. Fletcher and Mrs. J. D. Holmes of Winnfield.

Pallbearers were Sion Jenkins, Howard Sowers, Henry Harlan, Horace Peters, John McCloy, and R. H. Fletcher.
