ARTESIA--A funeral for Seferina Delgado Hernandez, 89, of West Kemp Avenue, will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Marcos Cemetery.
A vigil will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Mrs. Hernandez died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at Artesia General Hospital.
Tarpening and Son Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Seferina Delgado Hernandez was born Jan. 4, 1911, in Balmorhea, Texas, to Fortino and Blasa Duran Delgado.
She married Guadalupe M. Hernandez in 1933 in Artesia. The couple renewed their marriage vows in 1996 in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
Mrs. Hernandez moved to Artesia from Balmorhea in 1932. She was a housewife and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, seven sons, two sisters and five grandsons.
Survivors include her husband of the family home; daughters, Maria H. Ponce and Jovita Hernandez of Artesia, Felisitas H. Lunares of Las Cruces and Lupe H. Valenzuela of Roswell; sons, Feliciano D. Hernandez of Las Cruces, Gonzalo H. Hernandez of Artesia and Arturo D. Hernandez of Albuquerque; sister, Teodora D. Ruiz of Artesia; brothers, Merejildo Delgado and Jose Delgado of Artesia and Pedro Delgado of Bakersfield, Calif.; 40 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
