Sara Julia Veal Maddox Green entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at her residencein Country Garden Assisted Living in Butler, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at the Fort Valley United Methodist Church, Friday, June 8 at 2:00 PM with burial at the Irwinton Masonic Cemetery in Irwinton,Georgia at 4:30 PM. Reverend Wesley Jones of the Reynolds United Methodist Church will be officiating.

Sara was born on October 12,1924 in Laurens County, Georgia, the youngest of five children born to Earnest Rupert and Lillie Mae (Cook) Veal. She was married to Richard E. Maddox on September 7, 1946 until his death on September 26, 1955. She was married to George F. Green on July 18, 1964 until his death on May 8, 1993.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Claxton H. Veal and Benjamin T. Veal; twosisters, Annie Mae (Veal) Baldwin and Earnestine (Veal) Edwards. She is survived by her son, of Perry, three daughters, ; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren
