Belle was the daughter of Isaiah and Cornelia Biddle. She was born in Suffield, Connecticut on December 7, 1849. Her father was born in Maryland and her mother in North Carolina. (Cornelia is buried in Old Center Cemetery, Suffield, CT)
She married Henry Leslie Loomis on July 31, 1867. Henry and his son, Frederick, started the Fargo Laundry Company.
