Cherokee Roop Cook, of Radford, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, June 28, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Cook and her parents, Hobart L. Roop and Stella Reynolds Roop. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack W. Cook II and Joanne P. Cook; daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia C. Doud and Ralph B. Doud III, Gail Cook DeVilbiss and John Grady DeVilbiss, Becky Mann and Scott Mann, and Barbara Cook Turk and D. Michael Turk; 14 grandchildren, Jacqueline C. Clark and spouse, Nick Clark, Christopher and Clinton Cook, Brigham and Evan Doud, Victoria, John and David DeVilbiss, Mark, Michael and Will Mann, and Matthew, Adam and Maggie Turk; three great-grandchildren, Aden, Grayson and Lucas Clark; her sister, Joyce Roop Testerman, of Radford; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy R. Cook and Jo Anne Irby Cook, and Dick A. Cook and Frankie H. Cook; and 17 nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be announced at a later time.
