Jesse Clyde Justice Mullis was born to Frank and Minnie L (Williams) Justice. She married Buford Mullis and had 5 children-Joyce, Cecil, Joan, Douglas, and Thomas. There was a horrible house fire in which Jesse, Cecil, Joan, Douglas and Thomas all perished. Joyce was spared because Jesse sent her to the mill to get Buford. Such a SAD time for the Mullis/Justice families. Jesse was only 29 years old and her children who perished were only 7, 5, 2, and 3 months!!! Horrific incident. Jesse and her 4 children are buried side by side in Oak Hill cemetery.
