REINSCH, EDWARD N.—Edward N. Reinsch was born near Shickley on January 24, 1914, at the oldest of 13 children of William Reinsch and Margaret Erthum Reinsch. He passed away Friday, January 17, 1986, at the Fillmore County Hospital, Geneva, at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 24 days.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith and on April 11, 1954, was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Johns’ Lutheran Church at Ohiowa.

He loved farm life and spent the early part of his life farming. He was united in marriage to Everna Mussman on July 24, 1940, in the First Lutheran Church in York. They farmed near Geneva until 1965 when he purchased and operated Eddie’s 66 Service in Geneva.

Eddie was also a longtime Star Route mail carrier out of Geneva. He was a charter member active in the formation of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church where he later served as council member and president.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Billy and Herbert.

He is survived by his wife, Everna; a daughter, Cynthia McCashland, her husband Donn of Lincoln; a son, Richard and wife, Becky of Geneva; six grandchildren, Scott McCashland of Houston, Tex., Vicki McCashland Duncan and Cindi McCashland of Lincoln, Tracey, Betsy, and Susan Reinsch of Geneva; four brothers, Clarence, Francis, and Wayne of Geneva, and Merle of Shickley; six sisters, Viola Stengel of Shickley, Gertrude Dondlinger of Phoenix, Az., Marguerite Getz of Denver, Co., Jeanette Schommer of Lincoln, Joan Haufle of Crete, and Patricia Bourke of Sutton.

Eddie was a kind and loving husband who dearly loved his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family, all of whom will miss him greatly.

Funeral services were conducted from Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Geneva, on Tuesday, January 21, with the Rev. Elton Walth officiating.

Mrs. Norval Lomax accompanied Curtis Prater and Mark Hecox who sang “In the Garden,” Ivory Palaces” and “The Old Rugged Cross.”

Pallbearers were Gary Reinsch, Charles Dondlinger, Gerald Stengel, Craig Reinsch, Michael Haufle, and Don Claus.

Interment was in the Geneva public cemetery.
