Margaret Anna "Maggie" Erthum was born in St. Libory, Neb., on August 30, 1893, the eldest child of Nicholas Erthum and Katherine Dondlinger Erthum.

She departed from us on May 9, 1975, at the Fillmore County Hospital, having reached the age of 81 years, 8 months and 9 days.

Most of her life was spent in Fillmore County. She attended school at the District No. 50 (Sodtown) country school.

On January 28, 1913, she was united in holy matrimony to William Reinsch. Their union was blessed with 13 children. One son, William Jr., preceded her in death.

Besides her beloved husband, William, her companion of 62 years, she leaves to mourn her passing six sons, Edward, Clarence, Herbert and Wayne of Geneva, Francis L. and Merle of Shickley; and her six daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Viola) Stengel of Shickley, Mrs. John (Gertrude) Dondlinger of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Don (Marguerite) Getz of Denver, Col., Mrs. Joe (Jeanette) Schommer of Lincoln, Mrs. Leonard (Joann) Haufle of Crete and Mrs. Pat (Patricia) Bourke of Sutton; five brothers, John Erthum of Ravenna, Al Erthum of Clay Center, George Erthum of Roseland, Otto Erthum of Portland, Ore., Lawrence Erthum of Ogallala; four sisters, Mrs. Rose Carl of Hastings, Mrs. Genevieve Marson of Geneva, Mrs. Earl (Louise) Churchill of Hastings, Mrs. Bill (Loretta) Hastings of Gothenburg; 54 grandchildren; and 48 great-great-grandchildren.

She will always be remembered by her family and her many friends as a kind, gentle and loving mother, whose greatest joy was her home and family.

Her six sons had the privilege to be her pallbearers and carry her to her final resting place. Services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Geneva, May 12, with Rev. Walter Banach officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Geneva.
