Joseph "Lee" Owens -PINEVIEW-Joseph Lee Owens, age 73, of 12811 Tippettville Road, Pineview passed away Friday, January 18, 2008 in the Coliseum Northside Hospital in Macon. Graveside services will be held at 2P.M. Tuesday, January 22, 2008 in the Christian Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Joel Owens and Rev. John Stephens will officiate. -Mr. Owens was born on January 25, 1934 in Wilcox County where he had lived the greater part of his life. He was son of the late John Curtis Owens and Omie Warren Owens. He was retired from Civil Service at Albany Marine Base. He was of the Baptist Faith. He served his country with honor during the Korean Conflict in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Owens, in 1979. -Survivors include Wife, Lucia Owens of Rochelle; sons, Joseph L. Owens, Jr. of Abbeville, Luther Owens of Rochelle, Mark Owens of Pineview, Paul Owens of Rochelle, Timmie Owens of Pineview, Matthew Owens of Rochelle, and Levi Owens of Pineview; daughter, Lisa Moorhouse of Abbeville; brothers, Joe Owens of Pitts and Sam Owens of Oakfield; sisters, Jackie Childree and Monelle Childree of Valdosta; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. -Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, January 21 in the funeral home. -The family may be contacted at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Owens, Jr., 406 Poor Robin Road, Abbeville, GA. -Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle has charge of arrangements.
