The funeral service for Vena Turner, 87, 3319 Russell Springs Road, Columbia, KY, was Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home in Columbia.
She died Monday, April 21, 2003, at 12:18 p.m., at Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia.
She was the daughter of the late Edd Wint and Ada M. Grant Turner.
Miss Turner is survived by two sisters, Lena Turner Rooks Squires and Mary Lee Keltner and her husband, Raymond, Columbia; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Esbia Turner, Dola Turner, Ormal Turner, Ralph Turner and Calvin Turner.
Miss Turner was a member of the Columbia First Church of the Nazarene. She received the Distinguished Service Award in 1984 for 48 years of service in the church. She was a seamtress during her active career at Columbia Dry Cleaners when the business was owned by Jack and Glenna Williams.
Clergy officiating were Rev. Robert McKenzie and Bro. Jim Goff.
Interment was in Haven Hill Cemetery.
