She was raised and educated in the Buell and Grand Ronde areas, and attended the Salem School for the Blind in the eighth grade. She and her second husband, Walter A. Canady, married May 3, 1966, in Salem. They had been married 37 years when he preceded her in death. Mrs. Canady had worked at various jobs over the years but her primary job was as homemaker. She loved to read, watch TV, go shopping and make frinds. In years past, she had attended church in Buell. Survivors include two daughters, Diana Croy of Sheridan and Cindy Helvingtan of Springfield; a son, Thomas Canady of Sheridan; a sister, Dolores Davis of Dallas; and a brother, Loma Hammons of Woodland, WA.
