Marian I. Parker, 82, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, in Fort Smith. She was the owner and president of Parker Solvent Inc., a member of the First United Methodist Church, former secretary for the administrative board of the Church, a member of the Gleaners Sunday school class, the Fort Smith Art Center and the Sapulpa Historical Society.
She is survived by one son, Robert C. Parker Jr. and his wife Lee Anne of Fort Smith; three grandchildren, Robert Matthew Parker of Fort Smith, Holly Anne and husband Eric Dempsey of Lavaca, and Christina Lee and husband Shane Cline of Fort Smith; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Parker, and a son, Gary Parker.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, at 2 p.m. in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ted Skokos, Nelson Wakefield, Homer Frazier, LaGrande Ballard, Wes Kelly and Travis Ballard. Honorary pallbearers will be the Gleaners Sunday school class of First United Methodist.
The family will greet friends at Edwards Funeral Home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
