Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, Monday, December 22, 1975: "Frostburg-Mrs. Mary Stapleton, 84, formerly of Frostburg, died this morning at the Cumberland Nursing Home where she had been a patient four years. Born in Frostburg, she was a daughter of Edward and Margaret (Mullaney) Winner. Her husband, John Patrick Stapleton, preceded her in death. Mrs. Stapleton was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Sodality. Surviving are one brother, Charles Winner, Mt. Savage; three sisters, Miss Bernice Winner, Frostburg, and Mrs. Raymond Burkey and Mrs. S. K. Carroll, both of Cumberland, and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m."

Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymond Burkey, George Hast, James Hast, Aloysius Winner, Frank Mullaney and Joseph Lynch. Christian wake service will be held at 8 p.m. today in the Durst Funeral Home. Friends will be received there from 7 to 9 p.m."
