Wayne D. Adamson, of Bowdon, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at his residence. He was 78. Mr. Adamson was born on September 4, 1931 in Carroll County, Georgia to the late Monroe and Delvie Adamson. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the South Pacific during the Korean War. He was retired from Ford Motor Company where he worked as a Lift Operator at its Hapeville, Georgia plant. Mr. Adamson was also a member of Kansas Lodge F&AM where he was Past Master and had received his 50-year apron and a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Adamson was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Adamson; his brothers, Hugh and Jimmy Adamson; and a sister, Miriam Horsley. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Joan (Reeves) Adamson; two sons and daughter-in-law, all of Bowdon; daughter and her dear friend, of Bowdon; three grandchildren; great-granddaughter; brother; and three sisters.

Funeral services held on July 23 at Mountain View Baptist Church, with Rev. Tommy Wright and Rev. Kenneth Forsyth officiating. Pallbearers are Bart Whitman, Jared Whitman, Lavoy Johnson, Tim Adamson, Randy Lovvorn, Gabe Robinson, Robert Blakemore, and Steve Capes. The brothers of Kansas Lodge serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment in the church cemetery. Rainwater Funeral Home, Bowdon, in charge of arrangements.
