Born March 6, 1953 in Bloomington, he was the son of Hubert J. and Carol (Burch) Shelton.
He was a retired mechanic who recently worked for Meineke Car Center in Ellettsville and also Curry Buick. He was an avid fisherman and mushroom hunter who also enjoyed old car and tractor shows.
Surviving relatives include: two sons, Jerry C. Shelton of Solsberry and Brian J. Shelton of Bedford; one brother, James Shelton of Solsberry; one sister, Cindy Breeden of Bloomington; his grandchildren, C.J., Mallory, Ashlyn, Joshua and Joseph; his ex-wife, Debra Shelton of Bloomington and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
