Lillian Sarah Dorris York, 91, of Locust Grove, Henry County, Georgia, passed away Friday, July 30, 2004, in Concord, Pike County, Georgia.
The assumption is that Lillian was born in Fulton County, Georgia, Saturday, February 1, 1913. She, however, stated she was born in Tennessee.
Lillian's parents are the late William "Silvey" Dorris and Pearl Fredonia "Donie" Wilbanks Dorris Elliott.
Lillian was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Locust Grove.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Ernest Lee York; daughter, Patricia Jean "Patsy" York; and brother, William Dorris.
Surviving are her daughters, Zaretta Faye York Darnell (Edwin E.) Rodgers, Concord, Georgia, and Joan Marlene York, Macon, Georgia; sisters, Helen M. Dorris Morris, Hazel Elliott Garriott Drummond, Ruby Iris Jane Elliott Threlkel, and Mary Ellen Elliott Luther; grandchildren, Joel Nathan Darnell, Amanda Lynn Darnell (Keith) Turner, Fairon Lee Darnell, Thomas Neal Erwin, and Trent Steven Owens; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Rose Darnell, Timothy Joel Darnell, Courtney Turner, Andrea Nicole Turner, and Justin Brian Turner; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, August 2, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Locust Grove with Dr. Craig Bowers officiateing Interment followed at Griffin Memorial Gardens, Griffin, Georgia.

The marker is inscribed, "YORK," with "ERNEST L., 1910-1998" and "LILLIAN D., 1913-2004" on either side of the urn.
